Katy Contemporary Art Museum

Established in 2013, the Katy Contemporary Arts Museum  is a not-for-profit institution in Katy, Texas,
dedicated to presenting the contemporary art of our time to the public.

The Katy Contemporary Arts Museum provides an interchange for visual arts of the present and recent past, presents
new directions in art, strives to engage the public and encourages a greater understanding of contemporary art
through education programs.

Katy Heritage Museum
6002 George Bush Drive

          An old-fashioned broad-ax slashed binder-twine to officially open the 9,600-square foot
Katy Heritage Museum at 6002 George Bush Drive in the VFW Park.
Vintage farming equipment and artifacts from Katy’s agricultural and pioneering history are on display, along
with scores of old photographs and fascinating antiques.  Open several days a week, schools, clubs and groups
can make arrangements for special tours of the Museum.          

Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and the first weekend of every month
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and from 12 noon to 3 p.m.on Sunday.          
Admission is free.

Railroad Park / Tourist Center

Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Saturday, 10:00 – 2:00

The downtown “pocket park” is home to the historic Missouri-Kansas-Texas Depot, which has been
restored to serve as an Information & Tourist Center. It is a central location for tourists and visitors
to obtain information, brochures and maps for the City of Katy and Katy businesses.
The Katy Heritage Society Railroad Museum inside the Depot displays many original elements and explains how the
Depot operated as a passenger rail service in Katy until 1957.  The Heritage Society’s red caboose is also located on the
beautifully landscaped site with benches and a town clock.

Katy Heritage Park Historical Homes

The Katy Heritage Society serves as a key source for historic information and research in the area. 
The beautifully restored historic homes are open for free public tours the first full weekend of each month,
Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.   Special events include community concerts 
from the bandstand, vintage baseball games and tours for students and tourists.

“The G.I. Joe Museum” is a first-class military exhibit of historical significance encompassing every foreign
conflict involving the United States. Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Special group schedules on request. 
Memberships available and contributions appreciated.          
Admission is free.
